‘Temet Nosce’ is a way of saying ‘Know Yourself’ in Latin. I know that because I just looked it up.
It’s a good piece of advice for presenting. And here’s why:
- Knowing your strengths is essential so that you can play to them.
- Seeing yourself through someone else’s perspective is very useful for your on-stage persona (see my post ‘Building Character’).
- It helps you keep your cool by removing those anxieties about your abilities.
So: know yourself, like yourself, be yourself.
