I’m a speaker with 15 years of stand-up comedy experience. I’ve spoken at TEDx, Develop, Watch Me Think and I often host the Cambridge Marketing Meetup.

I make things funny. Including things that really shouldn’t be.

A long time ago I was a stand-up comedian, which means I’ve spent a frankly unreasonable amount of time learning how to make people laugh.

My speciality is spontaneity. I tell stories, make fun of myself, involve the audience, and turn anything that happens in the room into material. A misunderstanding, an awkward silence, a technical failure; ideally all three at once.

I notice things other people miss, then notice how funny they could be. I’ll bring back a throwaway comment from 20 minutes ago, use my own physical behaviour against me, or treat an utterly trivial event with the gravity of a national emergency.

The result is a talk that’s funny in its own right, but also demonstrates something important: humour isn’t just about having good jokes prepared. It’s about how you see the world, how you respond to what happens, and how you connect with the people around you.

I don’t just tell you how to be spontaneous – I show you.
