Here are the results of a survey on what some audiences think about Powerpoint presentations. There are several major issues, and to be honest, it doesn’t matter what they are. You could go through and address them all, and your presentation would be slightly better. Here’s a much better idea:
Don’t use Powerpoint during your presentation.
But wait a minute, a presentation is Powerpoint, isn’t it? Wrong. By all means use Powerpoint to write it, but don’t bore your audience to death with the same old thing by showing them more slides. They deserve more. Ditch the Powerpoint and see what it forces you to do. Try a little creativity, originality, and thinking outside the box (and other eighties cliches for being different).
Different is memorable. Different is good.
Be different.
