Here I am!
I’ve been dipping my toe into the waters of social media for a few years now with some Facebook action, but now, with the creation of my new public speaking training business, I’ve gone for it. In the last month I’ve (metaphorically) taken a run up, ignored the lifeguard’s bellowed warnings, and jumped right into the pool of social media, and with much of the same elegance I displayed at Pittville Swimming Pool in Cheltenham in the early eighties. I may have landed in the wrong part, and disturbed a few people who were quietly getting on with it, but I don’t care. I’m here and I love it.
I’ve started tweeting, I’ve made a Facebook business page, I’ve re-vamped my LinkedIn page, I’ve started wading around Google +, I’ve linked my FB posts to Twitter, I’m investigating HootSuite, and I’ve started this big bad blog.
Now, where’s that other thing I’m looking for? Ah yes, the reason for doing it all. I must find that. In my subsequent blog posts I intend to discuss verbal communication skills for presenting and speaking, with tips from my time as a professional stand-up comic. Best stick to that, I think.
