We want to see that you care about your subject.
Something I always try to convey in any talk that I give is some passion.
It can be easy to think that ‘well, the material, the content I’ve created for my pitch or presentation is so wonderful. It stands on its own, it speaks for itself’.
I disagree. I think you are possibly sabotaging your own chances of success by not working on your delivery, and showing some passion when you speak. Because if the audience thinks you don’t care about this as much as perhaps you should, why should they care about it?
You might not be sure what the thing is that stirs your passion for this particular subject. Find it! Find your passion, show that, convey it to your audience. That’s a really good way to get them engaged and have them convinced that the thing you’re talking about really matters.
